Paris 1924, official poster.
Among the 150 designs received by the Organising Committee, two were selected and used to promote the Games: one by Jean Droit and one by Stephano Orsi. The image created by Jean Droit depicts a group of athletes evoking unity and heroic firmness. By contrast, Orsi's composition alludes to the idea of the international dimension of this sporting competition, where different symbols are combined to form a complex image, a javelin thrower facing the world and a view of Paris encompassing the Sacré Coeur and the Eifel Tower. The two posters were printed in runs of 10,000 copies each, more than half of which went abroad.
