Attic red-figure column krater, by the Triptolemos Painter.
Side A: palaistra scene. A paidotribes (trainer) wearing an himation is flanked by thwo naked athletes following his instructions. Side B: ephebe, enveloped in a manle, staingin in front of a monument (a tomb?). Collar rim with concave outer face, flat on top, neck slightly concave; short shoulder and ovoid body, moulded foot in thwo degrees; lug-handles. Decoration: on the upper face of the rim a cahin of lotus buds, on the outer face ivy leaves, on the edage between the two faces a reserved line. On the neck, on side A: a chain of lotus buds with a series of dots, between thwo horizontal lines; on the base a zone with glazed rays. The figure panels are delimited above by tongues and on either side by ivy leaves and, at the base, by a reserved line.
