Nude male athlete taking an oath. Signature of the artist. The base is decorated with an Art Deco frieze. Caption on the plaque: "Nous vainqueurs, jurons de soutenir aux Olympiades de 1924 l'honneur de notre pays et la gloire du sport. (Challenge du "soir")."

Pierre DE SOETE. Taking the Olympic Oath, Amsterdam 1928. This work by Belgian sculptor and medallist Pierre de Soete was entered in the Olympic art competition at the Amsterdam 1928 Games. A photograph of it can be found in the competition exhibition catalogue. However, it did not win a medal. Purchased at auction
