The mascots for Milano Cortina 2026 were two stoats named Tina and Milo. The stoat with the lighter coat represented the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, whilst her younger brother Milo, with the darker coat, embodied the Winter Paralympics. Their names were inspired by the two host cities. The mascots are similar, not identical but complementary. Their colours are different, inspired by the fur of these animals, which changes with the seasons: brown in summer and white in winter. The decision to use these two different colours – whilst making them easy to distinguish – also had symbolic value: the mountains are an environment to be protected, explored and celebrated not only in winter, but throughout the year. They were the result of a collective idea, conceived in the school classroom. The project was developed as part of a national competition in which over 1,600 Italian schools took part. In the end, the ermine designs created by the Istituto Comprensivo di Taverna received more votes than the edelweiss and snowdrop designs submitted by the Istituto Comprensivo Sabin di Segrate. Development was then taken over by Movimenti Production. More than 30 people worked on different stages of the project, as reported by Giorgio Scorza, CEO, creative director and co-founder of Movimenti. This feature depicts them in various poses, with different objects and in a range of settings, from the San Siro Stadium to the Verona Arena.
